“…Lucky Lou’s is located on a thickly tree-lined Main Street in quaint Old Wethersfield Village. It’s a bit off-the-beaten path but that only adds to its charm and folksy atmosphere. The village is dotted with museums, parks, shops, and cafés, and at the end of Main Street you’ll find scenic Wethersfield Cove. At the Standish House Lucky Lou’s occupies two floors, and the seasonal patio, surrounded by a white picket fence, sports umbrella tables and features live music. Kyriakos hopes to double the size of the patio and add a barbecue pit in the near future.”
Good Lucking Out – Hartford Advocate [pdf download]
“…There’s a long history of eateries at the Standish House. Other former restaurants at the same location have tried to make the spot work with an Asian fusion menu, but the folks behind Lucky Lou’s have gone for a menu that fuses classic Mediterranean elements with an upscale American comfort sensibility. And the whole thing is wisely reined-in…[T]he staff and customers seemed to all be having a genuinely good time when I visited. That’s something you can’t manufacture.”

“I wanted to thank you and your staff for the wonderful dinner on December 30. My mother truly enjoyed the party as did the other guests. Everyone was impressed by the food, the atmosphere, and the attentive care that the servers took of us. Thanks for a great evening, which incidentally was a great value. And best wishes for 2011! You have a wonderful operation going there.”

“I discovered Lucky Lou’s this past summer while touring the historic homes and absolutely loved it. I have been back to Wethersfield specifically to return to Lucky Lou’s and recommend it to friends and family. The outdoor seating and entertainment area is such a plus for customers who want to enjoy a great night under the stars. There is no place like it!”

“My husband and I went to Lucky Lou’s on Friday for the first time based on friends telling us how good it is. It is excellent! We have been there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everything was delicious and a good price point for these trying times. My job is to tell everyone I know how great this establishment is as well as how nice Lou and his staff are. We need to make this a go. It’s local, it’s excellent and it is ours….love it! I am ready to move in—as soon as you start making breakfast!”

“My friend and I went to your restaurant (we live in Wethersfield) and it was amazing! The service was great and I loved the food—we had lobster sliders and a salad. Your food compares to those in West Hartford Center and the price is icing on the cake! Congrats for bringing in an amazing restaurant to our town! I will spread the word.”

“First I want to tell you that the food was super, (everyone couldn’t stop talking about it) and we certainly had plenty left over to take with us. Fed our company with it for a couple days. I can’t say enough about Stacey and Renee! They were phenomenal. The decorations I left were nicely placed on the tables and looked great. From the time we got there, they took care of us like we were family. Those two are keepers for sure. Take good care of them.”
